The moment my students walked in and saw the new supplies—fresh pencils, colorful dry erase markers, and boxes of tissues—their eyes lit up with excitement. We immediately used the pencils and markers during our reading groups and math centers, and students loved being able to write, erase, and share their thinking without fear of mistakes. These tools have already made learning more interactive and accessible for everyone.\r\n\r\nThese essential items are now part of our daily routines. Pencils are helping students complete their writing journals with confidence, and the dry erase markers are a go-to tool during small group instruction and whole-class games. Having tissues readily available has also helped students stay focused and comfortable, especially during allergy season. As we head into our next project on descriptive writing, students will use their pencils to sketch and describe real-life objects, using the markers to highlight key words and sensory details.
