As a Speech-Language Pathologist serving students from preschool through fifth grade in a public school setting, I am constantly seeking ways to make therapy engaging, effective, and meaningful for my students. Thanks to your kindness, we now have a wonderful collection of toys and materials that are already making a significant impact in our therapy sessions.\r\nThese new resources have brought joy and excitement into our therapy room. For many of my students with communication needs, play is a powerful tool for learning. The toys you helped provide are not just fun—they are essential instruments that support language development, social interaction, and communication growth. Whether we're practicing turn-taking, expanding vocabulary, or encouraging expressive language, these materials have opened up new opportunities for learning and connection.\r\nI've already seen the difference your donation is making. Students who were once hesitant to participate are now more engaged and eager to communicate. Their smiles and laughter during therapy sessions are a testament to the positive change you've helped create.\r\nYour support means more than words can express. It reminds us that there are compassionate individuals who believe in the potential of every child and the importance of equitable access to educational resources. Your kindness has made an incredible difference—not only for me as a teacher, but more importantly, for the students I serve every day.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is better equipped to be a space of creativity, learning, and growth. The supplies you provided, whether pencils and notebooks, headphones, or organizational tools, have already had a visible impact. My students come to school excited, engaged, and ready to learn, and part of that joy comes from having what they need to participate fully in their education.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, these materials are more than just tools—they're symbols of care and possibility. Your contribution has helped level the playing field and shown them that there are people in the world who believe in their potential, even if they've never met them.\r\n\r\nYour support reminds me that I am not doing this alone. Because of you, our classroom has become a cozy and inviting space where books are part of our everyday routine. The new books you helped us receive are not only fun and engaging, but they're also helping my students build important early literacy skills. We've been working on things like pointing to pictures while we read, turning pages one at a time, identifying characters, and even making predictions about what might happen next. These are big milestones for little learners, and your support is helping make that happen.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is something we look forward to every single day. My students light up when it's story time. We gather together on the carpet, and they listen, laugh, and engage with the stories. One of my students, Kyson, is completely obsessed with alphabet books now. He brings the same one to me every morning and shouts out the letters with excitement. Another student, Jayleen, who used to sit quietly, now smiles and claps along as we read together. It's beautiful to see their love for books grow right in front of our eyes.\r\n\r\nYou've made a real difference for my students, and I'm so grateful. The animals in this project were used with all my kindergarten, first, and second graders. Kindergarten explored the difference between living and nonliving things by comparing the earthworms to gummy worms. First grade practiced being zoologists and observed the mealworms, pill bugs, and earthworms. Second grade observed all the animals and explored the life cycles of each using books from past Donorschoose projects.\r\n\r\nAll of the students enjoyed the experience. Many were a little anxious at first (especially kindergarten) about having to observe these animals, but they soon overcame their anxiety and many were even brave enough to pick them up or touch them with their fingers. \r\n\r\nHaving real animals in the classroom helps students to better understand and appreciate what these creatures do for us. For kindergarten and first grade, it is understanding that all living things are precious and should be respected for their roles in our world. For second grade, it is understanding that all living things have a life cycle and living things change throughout their life cycle. Being able to provide students with these hands-on explorations is only possible with donations from you.","fullyFundedDate":1735520449547,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-animal-life-cycles/8967134/","projectTitle":"Exploring Animal Life Cycles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Boyea","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp797226_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1457303273273","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/colleenboyeasmith"},{"teacherId":9273723,"projectId":7827912,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our \"Otterly Amazing\"—has brought so much joy and growth to our classroom!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new cozy nook and hands-on materials, their faces lit up with excitement. One small group proudly presented their story about an adventurous otter exploring friendship and feelings—drawing clear inspiration from both the theme and the calming environment you helped us create.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're diving deeper into social-emotional learning.
