They have helped our students to learn their colors quickly, and to learn how to organize the materials used in art projects, games, and manipulatives. \r\n The students use our colorful trays to practice learning and writing the letter of the day and tracing shapes. Each day we place the letter of the day and some magnetic dots in the tray. The students line the letter and then trace it with a magnetic wand to collect the dots. This is teaching science by using magnets, tracing, letters, and letter sounds.\r\n The colorful sand and water tables are such an exciting time for the students to explore texture, and to be able to create designs in the sand. So many of our students have never touched sand and this is so inspiring for them. We have put shovels and sand molds inside the sand table so that the students can pretend that they are at the beach creating.\r\n You can see how the students are using some of the bins to store their writing materials, while learning to write and spell their first name. In the art center, the students are able to clean up their materials and store them quicker through color coordination. All the bins are in rows by color and each bin has a label showing the students what is stored in that colorful bin. \r\n Once again, thankyou to everyone who has supported our PreK classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1749090221746,"projectUrl":"project/super-senses-adventure/9308936/","projectTitle":"Super Senses Adventure!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hutchinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10011261_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y586&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746157645582","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10011261"},{"teacherId":4035892,"projectId":9450941,"letterContent":"Thank you for allowing us to offer students various seating options without our classroom. Your donation allowed us to stock up on treats like Jolly Ranchers and chocolates—small items that have made a big impact. One moment that stands out was when a student who had been having a rough morning received a piece of candy and said, \"This really helped—I feel like someone sees me.\" It's amazing how something so simple can make students feel valued and uplifted.\r\n\r\nWe've also used the candy as a motivational tool during our end-of-year review activities. These sessions can be long and sometimes tedious, but introducing candy rewards has completely changed the energy in the room. Students are more engaged, more willing to participate, and genuinely excited to tackle the material. It's been a fun and effective way to keep spirits high and learning on track during these final weeks.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, any leftover candy will be used during summer school as incentives to encourage participation and celebrate progress.
