I'm requesting books for a classroom library and also the tubs to keep and organize the books. I'm going back into the classroom after three years of teaching intervention and not having my own class. I do not have any classroom books, not one.
Starting the school year with a classroom library is absolutely essential, because the students are dealing with COVID-19 restrictions. We won't be able to visit the school library the way we are used to. We won't be able to just borrow books from one another. The students must be able to have a book or two that they can read. The book(s) then has to be "quarantined" for 72 hours before another student can read it. So, we need a decent sized classroom library on day one.
In addition, I also asked for dry erase pockets and markers. The students will be switching classes and will need to keep all of their belongings in their backpacks at all times, as to not risk contamination. Dry erase pockets are perfect because they are lightweight and can be used with any project or assignment that requires writing.
