When they come in for flex time, they know that once they're settled with their reflection and a plan for focused work time there is a snack waiting for them. I firmly believe that access to resources like snacks, calming beverages, and tools for mental health should be among their top concerns when they're trying to learn. \r\n\r\nStudents also benefit from being able to quickly locate supplies. When my students need a highlighter to highlight something, a spot to charge their phone so they can contact family after school, or they forgot their pencil, they don't have to waste time looking for those resources. My district provides so many of the basics, but your generous donations wrapped your arms around me and my students by providing an organizing corner bookshelf, comfortable sized desks, and soothing lamps to help me create a comfortable and calming classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity! With your support I was able to spend more time planning root word practice exercises, plan and provide interventions to target specific reading challenges, and build community by listening to each student's story.","fullyFundedDate":1756402966170,"projectUrl":"project/small-space-big-chill/9593778/","projectTitle":"Small space, big chill.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Malone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1581231_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726866191867","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1581231"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94307","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":890,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":35,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":27,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.5,"schoolId":94307,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carrboro High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carrboro High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/chapel-hill-carrboro-city-sd/carrboro-high-school/94307"}
