My first graders cannot stop checking them out! \r\n\r\nAdditionally, it has been encouraging as an educator to see my students excited about learning. It has been so encouraging to have these tools to continue expanding our STEM station offerings. My kindergarten kids love that our train supplies now include more tracks and accessories like people, trees and buildings. I love that I have more materials in the train station, thus more students can be in that station at once and have enough supplies for all kids. I also appreciate having the Snap Circuit kits to supplement the 4th grade science curriculum. Students are enjoying experimenting with the projects in the included packet. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, students in all grade levels have enjoyed doing the puzzles when their grade level has STEM time. Younger students are learning to match pieces by color or object and feeling a sense of group accomplishment when the puzzle is completed. Older students are also feeling successful when they complete a puzzle and I enjoy listening to conversations about the puzzle topics. The USA puzzle, with most states being a different, separate pieces, has lead to some interesting conversations about why certain states are that shape. It makes you feel good inside when students don't want to stop an activity because they are so excited to be learning!\r\n\r\nThank you for your support of our nation's future.","fullyFundedDate":1746461796918,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-update-our-media-center-stem-sup/9033922/","projectTitle":"Help Us Update Our Media Center STEM Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lunsford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1492994_orig.jpg?crop=3000,3000,x0,y1000&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754584154459","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/amylunsford"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2344","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":372,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.9,"schoolId":2344,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Leicester Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Leicester Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/buncombe-county-school-district/leicester-elementary-school/2344"}
