This year is even more special because we have been inventing different projects to print based on our new house system in our school to get us excited for! Our filament for the 3D Printer is being used across the school by students in all grades to print a variety of objects that can be utilized in many different projects across our STEM Elective Classes. The most exciting part is watching the students' faces when they come into the class to see what is being printed that very day, since now we are printing something for either a project or a future challenge every day!\r\n\r\nThe students are most excited to have their turn at creating something with the 3D Printer and I assure them daily that they will each have an opportunity to do so as they are learning how to use the software needed to complete flawless projects to print on the printer. My oldest students have a renewed passion for STEM and want to be the first who gets to print something for their challenges. You have created a new group of students who cannot wait to get their hands on technology or STEM tools.","fullyFundedDate":1757550175688,"projectUrl":"project/you-got-a-problem-lets-print-it/9604026/","projectTitle":"You Got a Problem? It has quickly become the centerpiece of our classroom for both whole-group and small-group learning. One specific moment that stands out was during a math lesson on rounding—students were able to come right up to the board, work out problems, and explain their thinking to the class. The mobility of the board has made it easy to move around the room, so learning can happen anywhere, whether we're gathered on the rug for a read-aloud or working in stations.\r\n\r\nWhen the board first arrived, the students were thrilled—they immediately asked if they could be the first to write on it! Their excitement showed how special it felt to have a brand-new tool just for our classroom. Since then, the white board has become a daily part of our routines. Next, we'll be using it to support our small group lessons in reading and writing, where students will get to share their ideas and strategies with their peers in a more interactive way. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more dynamic and collaborative, and I can't wait to see how much learning it continues to inspire!","fullyFundedDate":1754074673249,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-learning-with-a-mobile-whit/9466190/","projectTitle":"Rolling into Learning with a Mobile Whiteboard!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Everett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7503958_orig.jpg?crop=2026,2026,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750566263037","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7503958"},{"teacherId":5231562,"projectId":9194686,"letterContent":"Our school garden has taken a large step in the right direction with the addition of a portable greenhouse and planting materials. Several classes have taken the initiative of planting different kinds of vegetables in pots so they can be ready for planting in the summer months. This particular project has gotten many more of our students excited for the opportunity to create a grow a sustainable garden at their school, using the tools received to transform a space that really was not being used for anything.\r\n\r\nThe student body has been overjoyed to have an outdoor space to learn and experience agriculture other than in an indoor classroom environment. Having anything new added to the space keeps them engaged and excited for what is to come.\r\n\r\nSeveral projects have been started now because of the new materials. The LEGO Duplo kit was a hit among the students and so were the new color forms art canvas. There are now multiple S.T.E.M. staff here that can use materials to serve many more students at our school! (The students who were able to use the surprises in the boxes first were the most excited!)\r\n\r\nOur S.T.E.M. program has grown so much throughout the past six years, allowing our school to start some pretty awesome projects including animation, gardening, and electrical engineering. This project has been several years in the making. In obtaining these materials, my class has been able to create stories and short skits mixing and using many different LEGO characters.\r\nWhen the students saw the new LEGO sets and accessories, they literally went crazy. We did not have mini figures or accessories, so now they can create quite complicated scripts and stories about them. They can also mix different universes and create new stories for characters that normally do not go together. Some of the projects so far are very comical and utilize so many of the skills that we have learned with the different video applications.\r\nThrough this project, I have discovered some challenges and future needs. The future addition of a few digital cameras would be ideal, since there are some kinks with using student devices in photography and filming. Adding more accessories and LEGO bricks for students to expand their creative universe would also be ideal.
