The students have enjoyed having the support staff in the hallways. We have seen many students become more comfortable at school and more open to using positive social skills. At first, the students didn't understand the purpose of support staff being in the common areas of the school, but now they love it. They love to stop and tell us about their day and what they are learning in class. \r\n\r\nIt has also worked as an instant de-escalation intervention. The tie-dye activity gave students the chance to collaborate, problem-solve, and express themselves through art. Each shirt became a symbol of their success and teamwork, a wearable reminder of what they achieved together.\r\n\r\nBy blending artistry with science, students gained hands-on experience in experimenting with colors, patterns, and design. The process helped develop fine motor skills, patience, and attention to detail—skills that extended well beyond the classroom. Most importantly, students left with a sense of pride and ownership in their creations.\r\n\r\nThe project also fostered community and school spirit, as students proudly wore their tie-dye shirts, showing off their individuality while being part of a united group.\r\n\r\nIn addition, materials like Skittles and cups will be used throughout the year for fun and engaging \"Minute to Win It\" challenges. These activities built camaraderie, resilience, and joy throughout the school year, keeping students motivated and connected.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, students not only enjoyed a fun and memorable experience but also built teamwork, creativity, and lifelong skills in the process.","fullyFundedDate":1755520435822,"projectUrl":"project/team-building-minute-to-win-it/9438506/","projectTitle":"Team Building & Minute to Win It","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Blackford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5580098_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694200570542","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5580098"},{"teacherId":3683032,"projectId":8917499,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation! \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited when we received our whiteboards and clipboards. These activities were engaging and reinforced concepts learned.\r\n\r\nStudents enjoyed creating the dinosaur terrarium. They worked together to arrange all the parts. The goal of this project was to promote positive behavior and foster teamwork among my students and the resources provided have significantly contributed to this goal.\r\n\r\nThe focus of the point-earning jars centered on three key principles: \"Being Responsible, Being Respectful, and Being Safe.\" Additionally, there was a bonus point system during December and January, encouraging 85% or more of the class to check out books from the library. It was rewarding to witness students visibly engaged as they filled their jar together with their peers. Their eagerness to earn points was evident, and they actively encouraged one another to make good choices too.\r\n\r\nAn added benefit of the jars has been the opportunity for classes to earn rewards, with UNO being particularly popular. Once a jar is filled, the class empties it and starts over, which has motivated them to maintain their efforts in anticipation of further prizes. In the future I plan to introduce smaller stars as a challenge for those classes that quickly fill their jar, along with more demanding bonus tasks.\r\n\r\nIn conclusion, I would like to extend a heartfelt \"THANK YOU!\" Your generous contribution will not only have a lasting impact for the remainder of this school year but will also benefit students in the years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1726595948277,"projectUrl":"project/amazing-things-are-going-to-happen/8455007/","projectTitle":"Amazing Things Are Going to Happen!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2359571_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1510360936172","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/taylor-library"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2214","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":351,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":35,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":68.3,"schoolId":2214,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Graham Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Graham Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/alamance-burlington-school-system/north-graham-elementary-school/2214"}
