My students are using the materials during hands-on projects, lessons, and activities that allow them to practice communication, creativity, fine-motor skills, and following directions.\r\n\r\nOne specific project we have been working on is creating colorful classroom displays and completing hands-on lesson activities. Students use the markers and highlighters to identify important information, organize their work, and add color to their projects. The glue allows them to create and assemble materials independently. It has been wonderful to see students take pride in their finished work and proudly share what they have created.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, they were excited to have so many bright colors and new materials to use. Some students immediately wanted to start creating, while others enjoyed choosing their favorite colors. Having their own classroom materials has helped make our activities more engaging and motivating.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these resources in upcoming lessons and projects. Students will be creating more visual learning materials, completing art-based activities, and using highlighting and color-coding to help them identify and remember important information. We are so grateful to our donors for helping provide materials that make learning more hands-on, meaningful, and enjoyable for our students!","fullyFundedDate":1786023273621,"projectUrl":"project/color-their-learning-spark-their-creati/10178349/","projectTitle":"Color Their Learning, Spark Their Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tarantola","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9340791_orig.jpg?crop=408,408,x403,y115&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698168303816","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mstarantola"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22941","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":840,"numTeachers":79,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":28.6,"schoolId":22941,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wantagh High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wantagh High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/wantagh-union-free-school-district-23/wantagh-high-school/22941"}
