These materials have helped create a calm, soft start to the morning—what I now call our \"sensory soft start.\" It sets the tone for the day by giving students the space and support they need to regulate their bodies and prepare their minds for learning.\r\n\r\nWhat's most remarkable is that many of my students are nonverbal, and yet they are independently seeking out the tools they need. This shows not only growth in self-regulation but also an increase in autonomy and confidence. For students who often face communication barriers, being able to recognize what they need and take action without adult prompting is a huge step forward.
