They are learning to recognize when their bodies need a break and to use the sensory materials to help themselves relax, regulate, and get ready to return to learning. It has been wonderful to see students begin to use the spaces more independently and discover which sensory strategies work best for them.\r\n\r\nYour donations have helped make our classrooms more supportive and responsive to the individual needs of our students. Having a designated sensory space allows students to take the time they need to reset and then return to classroom activities feeling calmer and more prepared to participate. Whether a student needs deodorant, toothpaste, a toothbrush, wipes, or another personal care item, these supplies are readily available so they can take care of their needs comfortably and with dignity.\r\n\r\nHaving these resources at school is about so much more than simply providing hygiene products. It gives my students an opportunity to learn important self-care routines, build independence, and develop healthy habits that they can carry with them beyond the classroom. Students are learning how to recognize their own needs, choose the appropriate supplies, and take greater responsibility for caring for themselves.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials help ensure that an unexpected hygiene need does not have to interfere with a student's confidence or ability to participate in their school day.
