The swivel chair has quickly become a favorite, as it allows them to incorporate movement in a way that is not distracting to their learning. It has been especially helpful during iReady lessons, giving students a more comfortable and flexible space to focus and do their best work.\r\n\r\nWe did need to make a small adjustment along the way when the original seating I selected was no longer available. To stay within budget, I chose to include an oversized bean bag chair instead. This turned out to be a great decision. Some students prefer the structure of the swivel chair, while others feel more comfortable in the bean bag, so it has allowed us to better meet a variety of needs.\r\n\r\nMy students were truly excited when the alternative seating arrived. As a resource room, there are often times when students are working independently, and having these options has made those moments more productive and positive. I share the classroom with another teacher, and her students were just as enthusiastic. They even took the initiative to create their own schedule and expectations chart for using the seating. This helped build a stronger sense of ownership and contributed to a more supportive and safe classroom environment than we had originally imagined.\r\n\r\nWe would love to continue expanding our alternative seating options. The lap desks have been especially popular, and we have noticed that many students enjoy working while sitting on the floor. To support this, we have started incorporating yoga mats along with the wooden lap desks. Some students even choose to use the lap desks while seated at traditional desks, which shows how valuable flexible options can be. Since our classroom does not have windows, we are also working on improving the lighting to create a more comfortable and inviting learning space for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1769098441051,"projectUrl":"project/swivel-seats-for-focus-and-comfort-in-ou/9850523/","projectTitle":"Swivel Seats for Focus and Comfort in Our Resource Room!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Heintz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7507428_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1599014578295","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7507428"},{"teacherId":10342162,"projectId":10026334,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous donations.
