Your generosity has provided our readers with an engaging and thought-provoking novel that has sparked meaningful discussions and deepened students' understanding of both literature and the world around them.\r\n\r\nThis novel has allowed us to explore a variety of important literacy skills, including character analysis, theme development, point of view, and making text-to-self connections. Students have examined how authors develop complex characters and use internal dialogue to reveal thoughts and emotions. The book has also encouraged critical conversations about friendship, family relationships, identity, and resilience, helping students think beyond the plot and analyze deeper meanings within the text.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an interactive experience. Students participate in read-alouds, literature circles, small-group discussions, and reflective writing activities. As they read, they annotate the text, ask questions, and share their interpretations with classmates. These discussions help students strengthen their comprehension skills while learning to respectfully consider perspectives that may differ from their own.\r\n\r\nMany students have connected strongly with the characters and themes in *Turtles All the Way Down*. Some students who are typically hesitant to participate in class discussions have eagerly shared their thoughts about the characters' experiences and choices. Others have appreciated the novel's realistic portrayal of relationships and personal challenges, finding connections between the story and their own lives. The book has inspired thoughtful conversations and has encouraged students to engage more deeply with reading.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create opportunities for students to experience literature that is both engaging and meaningful. Thank you for helping us foster a love of reading, critical thinking, and empathy in our classroom. Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact on our students' educational journey.","fullyFundedDate":1773867487648,"projectUrl":"project/turtles-all-the-way-down-for-english-9/10148679/","projectTitle":"Turtles All The Way Down for English 9","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Struble","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10306143"},{"teacherId":10306143,"projectId":9809850,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to fund my project to buy a class set of Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson. The students were able to spend their mornings inquiring about more information between our two classes. \r\n\r\nOne awesome lesson that we did was writing letters as an American Spy! The students wrote a letter from the perspective of Curzon or Isabel, and then wrote a secret message in invisible ink(we used baking soda and hot water, and then revealed the messages with grape juice).
