When the students unpacked the model engines they were overwhelmed with all of the 104 pieces that were in the box. There were seventeen students, broken up in groups of four and one worked with the teacher. Students were instructed to read the directions before they started to put the engine together. \r\n It took over five hours for two groups and the teacher pair to finish putting the engines together. After many trials and errors four out of the five engines worked. The students were very excited to have the engine working. Winter has been very cold this year and more students than ever had needed hats, gloves, and coats. Due to your care, my students all received gloves and hats before the snow began to fall. I'm happy to report no lost gloves yet!\r\n\r\nMy students have loved picking out their favorite colors and many chose matching sets of hats and gloves. They were so excited to each get their own hygiene bag, I've never seen so many smiles. It may seem unimportant but my students love having their own items bought just for them. Meeting simple needs like being able to brush their teeth before school and having warm clothing allows them to focus their energy on learning and being kids.
