Myself and the students in my classroom greatly appreciate your donations. The materials we got from the project are materials that we use on a daily basis in our classroom. Not only is the physical space more organized and visually appealing, it is more accessible to my students. Other materials that we received have provided my students with alternative ways to communicate with myself and their peers, something so important for the ASD population. Kindergarteners learn so much through play and exploring who they are as little people. Students with Autism need significantly more support in these areas. Your donations have given them the opportunity to learn about themselves as individuals and build their daily living and academic skills through play. Your donations have also brought them significant comfort and supports with regulating the big feelings in their little bodies. \r\n\r\nThe toys you donated towards have helped them learn how to play appropriately. They have also aided them in learning how to play and interact with other students which helps build their social skills. These toys have helped teach them skills such as turn taking, sharing, student interaction, independent play, animals, colors, shapes, and textures. The more comforting portion of this project that you donated towards such as the swing, body sock, rug, and weighted blanket have been used to help regulate sensations and emotions. My students are unable to communicate what they need, want, or feel. This inability often leads to frustration. These items help provide them comfort and help them regulate their biggest feelings.\r\n\r\nYour donations have provided endless opportunities for my students.
