It has officially become the biggest hit in our physical education classes for all students, and the positive ripple effects are being felt across our entire school community.\r\n\r\nHere is a closer look at the incredible impact your gift has made:\r\n\r\n1. Promoting Inclusive and Active Play\r\nOne of the most beautiful things about Gaga Ball is that it is a true equalizer. Unlike some traditional sports that favor specific skill sets, Gaga Ball is fast, unpredictable, and accessible to everyone. We regularly see students of all different ages, athletic abilities, and social circles playing side-by-side. It has gotten our most reluctant movers up, running, and laughing during physical education.\r\n\r\n2. Building Social Skills and Community\r\nThe Gaga Ball pit has become a natural classroom for social-emotional learning. Because the game moves quickly, students are practicing:\r\n\r\nConflict resolution: Learning to make quick, fair calls on who was \"hit.\"\r\n\r\nGood sportsmanship: Cheering for classmates and eagerly waiting for the next round to jump back in.\r\n\r\nInclusion: Students naturally invite peers who are standing on the sidelines to join the next game.\r\n\r\n3. Boosting Joy and Focus in the Classroom\r\nThe high-energy nature of the game allows students to truly \"burn off\" energy during their breaks. Teachers have noticed that students are returning to their desks refreshed, focused, and ready to learn. The pure joy and excitement radiating from the pit have genuinely boosted our overall school morale.\r\n\r\nThe Gaga Ball pit hasn't just changed physical education; it has strengthened our school community. Seeing students encourage each other, laugh together, and include one another has been the greatest gift.\r\n— [Alexander Goewey - Physical Education Teacher]","fullyFundedDate":1773548558642,"projectUrl":"project/going-going-gaga/10136830/","projectTitle":"Going, Going, Gaga","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Goewey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10459595_orig.jpg?crop=3333,3333,x733,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1773021650743","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10459595"},{"teacherId":10328955,"projectId":9856742,"letterContent":"First, let me thank you from the bottom from my heart for your bones share towards my students and classroom! Your support means more than you know, and it helps my students so much! \r\n\r\nThe use of a classroom iPad is helpful for so many reasons. In my classroom, I have a wide range of physical needs and limitations. Laptops are more often than not too cumbersome for my students to use independently, or even with support. An iPad lets us bypass some of the difficulties and provide students a frustration free way to meaningfully access the UNIQUE curriculum we use in the classroom. This includes, accessing a library filled with differentiated pre-modified reading material based on extensions of our learning, and interest topics. It also lets students engage in independent skill building and reinforcement activities at their level in their independent learning areas within our room. \r\n\r\nThis tech will also help support students by allowing me to better access benchmarking and skill target practice parts of the UNIQUE website, as well as aide in testing sessions! \r\n\r\nThan you again for all you have done to support my students and their continued success!","fullyFundedDate":1761603088033,"projectUrl":"project/ipad-for-unique-learning/9856742/","projectTitle":"iPad for UNIQUE learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McSweeney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10328955_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761271683021","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10328955"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22323","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":380,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":88.4,"schoolId":22323,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Minetto Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Minetto Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/oswego-city-school-district/minetto-elementary-school/22323"}
