During our speech-vocational activities, students use the rolling cart to practice travel training, greet others, ask questions, and comment while selling cards and making Dunkin Donuts deliveries throughout the school. They have proudly distributed Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and birthday cards, learning how to share responsibilities by rolling the cart together, following directions, locating specific cards, and independently retrieving materials. Students are also using the portable caddies to transport drinks from Dunkin Donuts to school and then deliver them to classrooms. Another favorite activity has been learning to make hot chocolate using the drink mix, which encourages students to interact with one another by asking peers if they would like to taste the drink, help prepare it, or try something new. Since receiving these materials, students have become much more independent in carrying and using their communication devices, taking ownership over their learning rather.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions to the materials have been incredibly positive. They are excited each week to participate in hot chocolate making, Dunkin deliveries, and Bingo routines, and they eagerly look forward to these structured activities. The resources have helped create engaging opportunities for students to interact socially, communicate with peers, and build confidence in their abilities. Moving forward, my goal is to continue building familiar transitional routines that can be applied across all classroom lessons and subject areas.
