Students are able to read books about favorite characters and new friends. These titles help support students in discussing main idea, character traits and themes as well as helping students appreciate diversity. Several of the books are bilingual and represent other cultures, allowing students to find something that resonates with them. \r\n\r\nStudents are selecting books that match their reading levels and interests. During independent reading, they are choosing different stories and helping spark conversations and cultural understanding. This shows how access to the right books can make a lasting impact for our students.
