Our students were incredibly excited to see their new headphones. All year they have been dealing with old headphones that barely work. They were so happy to have new headphones that work correctly. They have been very gentle with the headphones to ensure that they last for many years to come.\r\n\r\nWe use headphones in the classroom in a variety of ways. Students complete online school assessments that have listening components. In science and social studies, students may watch educational videos about a topic. In reading, students enjoy listening to audiobooks during independent reading time. The headphones get used regularly.\r\n\r\nIt was so kind of you to donate to our classrooms. Through your support and generosity, I am able to place high-quality, engaging books directly into the hands of my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and support. In the end they all got adorable stuffed animals they sewed themselves to remind them of their positive qualities. And, they all learned a valuable skill - sewing! \r\n\r\nFeeling good about themselves is a daily goal, but having a visual reminder in the form of a very cute stuffed \"spirit animal\" will be a big help. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping to make this happen!","fullyFundedDate":1758837060958,"projectUrl":"project/self-esteem-sewing-project/9397852/","projectTitle":"Self-Esteem Sewing Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Spaic","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9747024_orig.jpg?crop=849,849,x46,y82&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758975647608","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747024"},{"teacherId":10033854,"projectId":9350220,"letterContent":"The new books and reading supplies have truly transformed my classroom into a far more engaging experience for my students. With these books students have developed a whole new love for reading. They enjoy seeing characters and reading stories they can relate to. It has allowed us to introduce diverse cultures and identities in the classroom where students can learn more about each other.\r\n\r\nWe have also used the books for close reading, character analysis and identifying themes - skills that help students think more deeply about what they read and make meaningful connections to their own lives. Every week we participate in DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) which allows students to read anywhere in the classroom with any book of their choosing. This is their favorite part of the week. Even our reluctant readers have become some of the most enthusiastic about our DEAR time. They are asking if they can bring the books home or for more reading time. \r\n\r\nMany of the stories also support vocabulary development and spark rich conversations about empathy, perseverance and problem solving. Students are feeling more confident and enthusiastic about reading each day.","fullyFundedDate":1758908335094,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-look-like-us-stories-that-in/9350220/","projectTitle":"Books That Look Like Us, Stories That Inspire Us","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10033854_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x0,y196&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748544589697","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msjonesclassroom08"},{"teacherId":9712154,"projectId":9430777,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support of our program. Because of you, my students now have access to meaningful, hands-on resources that are building their minds, bodies, and confidence every single day.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students lit up with pure excitement. Many couldn't believe these high quality tools were actually for them. They were immediately eager to jump in, try new exercises, and explore the powerful stories waiting on our new classroom bookshelf. It was more than just excitement, it was a sense of ownership, pride, and belonging.\r\n\r\nWe've used the gloves and pads during weekly enrichment sessions, pairing fitness routines with guided reading time and reflections based on culturally relevant books like Becoming Muhammad Ali. Students are developing discipline, focus, and teamwork while exploring themes like perseverance, identity, and leadership through literature. One student shared, \"I didn't know reading could feel like this, and boxing makes me feel strong.\" These moments are exactly why this project matters.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we've created a space where students who often feel overlooked are now seen, heard, and empowered. Your kindness has given them tools for both physical and academic growth, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758908350059,"projectUrl":"project/fighting-for-focus-boxing-and-literacy/9430777/","projectTitle":"Fighting for Focus: Boxing and Literacy Program That Builds Strength, Confidence","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9712154_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y42&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724797625119","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9712154"},{"teacherId":3097380,"projectId":7044348,"letterContent":"The addition of book baggies, whiteboard easels for letter formation, and privacy boards significantly enhanced my students' learning experiences, allowing them to engage more deeply with their education and develop key skills.\r\n\r\nBook Baggies empowered students to take ownership of their reading by providing them with a personalized selection of books that they were easily able to transport and keep organized. This simple resource encouraged a love for reading and promoted independent learning, both in and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhiteboard Easels supported students in mastering letter formation and handwriting, offering them a hands-on, immediate way to practice and perfect their writing skills. With the ability to erase and redo, students will felt more confident experimenting with letter shapes and words, fostering a growth mindset and improving their fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nPrivacy Boards created a focused, distraction-free environment for students during testing, giving them the confidence to perform to the best of their ability. By offering each student a personal space to concentrate, these boards reduced anxiety, boost test-taking success, and promoted a sense of independence.\r\n\r\nTogether, these resources fostered a classroom environment where students felt empowered to learn at their own pace, develop essential academic skills, and build self-confidence.
