It looks like students gathered together for read-alouds, turning and talking with partners, sharing ideas, and responding through drawing and writing. We pause often to ask questions, encourage thinking, and give students time to express their understanding. There is a strong sense of excitement, and students feel safe taking risks and sharing their thoughts.\r\n\r\nMany students are especially enjoying the new books because they can see themselves in the stories and connect to the characters. Some students who were once hesitant are now eager to participate, raise their hands, and share their thinking. Others love acting out parts of the story or discussing what might happen next.
