I love making learning fun and encouraging creative thoughts and sparking imaginations. Through the donated items, my students have had the chance to explore and play while building their knowledge.\r\n\r\nMy K-3 STEAM Leaders were especially excited when they saw the new tents! All of the materials we received have been very motivating for my classes. \r\n\r\nSince the donations arrived, we've used the STEAM fairy tale kits as a springboard for lessons. The Three Little Pigs helped my little leaders learn more about materials, architecture, textures, and engineering strong foundations. We even had a chance to retell the story using each tent as the pig's house. Goldilocks and the Three Bears taught us about comparing sizes, shapes, and constructing appropriate ratios. Students built small, medium, and large furniture with blocks, magnet tiles, and cardboard. Most recently, we used The Three Billy Goats Gruff kit to learn all about bridges. Everyone loved building bridges with popsicle sticks, blocks, and bricks in the tents. All of the classes constructed their own wooden bridge, inspiring conversations about strength, construction, and intentional design.\r\n\r\nI look forward to the remainder of the year and using our other materials to create engaging and hands-on lessons.
