Several of them said, \"We're really making these? Like actually building them?\" Their disbelief quickly turned into pride as they got to work measuring, drilling, designing, and painting.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened during our design phase. One student in particular was thrilled to work on Adam Silvera's library because they had just finished reading They Both Die at the End. She immediately took charge in creating a vibrant blue and white design inspired by the cover art of Adam's books, but still make it their own. Adam grew up in the Bronx, just a short distance from our school, and many students are inspired by his journey as a writer.\r\n\r\nWe're now in the final stages of finishing and sealing the libraries, and students are carefully curating the special dedication that will go on the back of each library. Soon we'll be mapping out installation sites around the school and surrounding neighborhoods—places where these libraries can reach Bronx readers who might need them most.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide materials. You gave my students the chance to build something lasting, to tell their stories through design, and to give back to our community in a meaningful and creative way. Thank you for believing in them and for helping bring this project to life.","fullyFundedDate":1759109745949,"projectUrl":"project/from-the-bronx-to-the-world-little-free/9769831/","projectTitle":"From The Bronx to The World: Little Free Libraries","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1238280_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628361781485","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msartclark"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126527","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":323,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":41.7,"schoolId":126527,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Aeci II School for Computer Engineering and Innovation on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Aeci II School for Computer Engineering and Innovation","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-state-department-education/aeci-2-charter-high-school/126527"}
