These have quickly become a favorite resource in our classroom. We're using them in both our Advisory and Game Design classes, and the students have been incredibly enthusiastic. Whether they're exploring game mechanics and strategy or simply enjoying some screen-free social interaction, the dominoes offer a perfect blend of learning and fun.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable moment was during our school's International Day celebration, where we showcased games from around the world. Our students proudly taught visitors how to play dominoes, and it sparked conversations about the game's history and cultural significance. It was a fantastic way for them to take ownership of their learning and share it with the broader school community.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue using the dominoes as a hands-on tool for understanding game logic, probability, and design principles. They've already inspired a few students to start brainstorming their own variations and rule sets for future projects. To create an environment conducive to student learning and participation we applied for funding through DonorsChoose to purchase yoga mats, blocks, cushions, and straps. We are so grateful for your donations, and the enthusiastic smiles and cheers when the equipment arrived in February were palpable throughout the school. As a result of your donation, we were able to initiate a yoga and meditation club for senior girls at Vanguard High School.\r\n\r\nIn our club sessions, we use the mats and blocks to sit for a brief meditation and practice calming breath techniques, such as box breaths and alternate nostril breathing. The warm-up stretches are done sitting, kneeling on the cushions, or standing on the mats. We use the mat, blocks, and cushions in our slow flows where the girls are learning the poses, gaining strength, and maintaining their focus. The students said afterwards that they feel \"at peace\", and \"calmer inside\", and one said, \"This is exactly what I need in my life.\"\r\n\r\nWithout your support this would not have occurred.
