Now, each student has access to their own device, and it's transforming the way we approach lessons. With these calculators, students can focus more on understanding math concepts rather than getting stuck in long arithmetic. They're learning how to analyze data, check their reasoning, and explore patterns, all of which builds stronger problem-solving skills.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room was immediate! My students love the hands-on experience of using technology that makes them feel like real mathematicians and scientists. They've been especially excited to use the calculators during group problem-solving challenges and test prep sessions. One of my quieter students, who used to shy away from math, now volunteers to demonstrate solutions on the board using her calculator. It's been amazing to see her confidence grow.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has empowered my students to take ownership of their learning. These calculators aren't just tools; they're helping my students see math as something they can do and even enjoy. It creates a fair and reliable environment that helps each athlete focus on improving technique, confidence, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThese new volleyballs represent an investment in our athletes' growth and overall experience. They show our players that their hard work and commitment are valued, which builds pride and motivation within the team. The ability to compete and prepare with proper equipment not only strengthens our program today but also helps build a foundation for future success. In addition, my students use the laptop in order to complete assignments as well as persent projects to the class so that I can look at the details and make refinements if necessary. \r\n The laptop is exciting for the students because it truly puts the learning in their hands. For example, I am now able to assign a student each period I teach to come up and take the class attendance for the period, therefore not having to make interupptions in my teaching during the period. In addition, the laptop has been beneficial for my ELL students, specificlaly Spanish and Chinesse as they are able to translate the language into their home language.\r\n One student has particually has been especially warmed to this new technology as she is not able to have a device at home. As a coping strategy students were led through different styles of journaling such as; daily, letter, and gratitude journaling. It has already made a significant and positive impact on our classroom, particularly in how we use visual supports.\r\n As you know, visual aids are crucial for many of my students. Before your donation, creating these materials was often time-consuming and difficult, sometimes limiting what I could provide. Now, thanks to your printer, I can easily and quickly create materials and visual supports for my caseload. For example, I can now print personalized visual schedules for my students, helping them understand the daily routine and reducing anxiety. I can also now easily print out worksheets, games, and other learning materials in a format that is more visually accessible and engaging for all my students. The difference is truly remarkable. I've already seen many positive outcomes such as increased engagement and improved understanding. Your printer has empowered me to provide my students with the individualized support they need to thrive.\r\n Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. Resources like LEGOs, markers, coloring books, a book holder, and a card holder have provided tangible, engaging tools that have transformed our work together. LEGOs, for example, have become a fantastic way to target language skills. Students can build structures and then describe them, explain their design choices, or create stories around their LEGO creations, working on expressive language, narrative skills, and following directions. The coloring books and markers offer a less structured, creative outlet, allowing students to relax and engage in conversation while coloring. The book and card holders have proven invaluable for organizing materials, keeping student workspaces tidy, and promoting independence. These seemingly simple tools have made a world of difference in student engagement and progress.\r\nThe initial reaction from my students upon seeing these new materials was pure excitement! Many of them, especially the older students, initially thought they were too \"old\" for such activities. However, once they started building with LEGOs or coloring, their reservations quickly melted away. One memorable moment involved a student who struggles with social communication. He was initially reluctant to participate in a group LEGO activity. However, as he started building a tower, he began narrating what he was doing and even invited another student to collaborate. It was a breakthrough moment, demonstrating how these resources can lower inhibitions and foster communication. Currently, we are using the card holder to create visual supports for practice, and the book holder to encourage reading aloud, during our weekly book club. The next step for these students is to use these skills to create and deliver presentations to the class, further building confidence and communication competence.","fullyFundedDate":1728421099152,"projectUrl":"project/speech-socializing-and-connecting/8865835/","projectTitle":"Speech Socializing and Connecting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jeanne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797764"},{"teacherId":8931047,"projectId":8848062,"letterContent":"So many students benefited from your generous donation.
