My 3K and Pre-K students crowded around the boxes, eyes wide and hands hovering as if they were opening treasure chests. The moment they saw the fresh crayons, markers, and colorful craft kits, they burst into joyful chatter, naming colors, imagining what they would create, and immediately asking to visit the art center. One unforgettable moment happened when a group of students began designing \"STREAM story pictures,\" combining shapes, lines, and textures to retell a science activity we had done earlier in the week. The new supplies didn't just refresh the art area; they reignited imagination.\r\n\r\nWe now use these materials daily across STREAM learning. The crayons support drawing observations during science explorations, the markers help students label simple diagrams, and the craft kits give them the chance to build, sculpt, collage, and express their ideas in ways that match their developmental needs. The new resources allow students to stay engaged in the art center longer, make more intentional choices, and experiment confidently with different mediums. For many children, this has become a calming, expressive space where they can blend creativity with early engineering, storytelling, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using these supplies to support ongoing STREAM projects. Students will illustrate tree patterns, design simple structures with craft materials, and create art pieces that reflect emotions, seasons, and classroom themes. These resources allow us to connect art with inquiry, literacy, and hands-on exploration in meaningful ways. Thanks to your generosity, our students now walk into the art center with excitement, independence, and a vivid sense of possibility. Your support made a real and joyful difference in our classroom, and I look forward to continuing to share the growth you helped inspire.","fullyFundedDate":1755708949440,"projectUrl":"project/basic-art-supplies-for-creative-artists/9545336/","projectTitle":"Basic Art Supplies for Creative Artists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9209595_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722695636731","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9209595"},{"teacherId":9209595,"projectId":9464778,"letterContent":"When our new Spanish audiobooks arrived, the listening center came alive in a way I've never seen before. My 3K and Pre-K students gathered around the materials with bright eyes, touching the CDs and pointing excitedly at the book covers. Many of our Spanish-speaking learners immediately recognized familiar words and phrases, and their faces glowed with pride. Students who rarely visited the listening center before were suddenly eager to put on the headphones, listen closely, and follow along with each story. One unforgettable moment happened when a group of children giggled together after hearing a playful Spanish rhyme, then began repeating it joyfully throughout the day. The center transformed from a quiet space into a lively hub of language, culture, and curiosity.\r\n\r\nWe use the new resources daily during STREAM center time, small-group rotations, and quiet literacy moments. The Spanish audiobooks help my students strengthen listening skills, build vocabulary, and make connections to their home language. They now sit longer, listen more attentively, and retell the stories using gestures, keywords, and new Spanish phrases they've learned. The materials have created a more equitable and inclusive learning environment, especially for multilingual learners who can now engage with stories that truly represent them. The audiobooks have also become a springboard for science, art, and engineering projects, where students draw characters, build settings, or explore story-related themes through hands-on STREAM activities.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using these Spanish stories as inspiration for upcoming lessons and projects. Students will create simple story maps, act out characters, and explore cultural traditions introduced in the audiobooks. We will also connect these stories to STREAM explorations, such as building story scenes with blocks or experimenting with sounds inspired by storytelling rhythms. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now celebrates language in a way that honors every child. You didn't just give us audiobooks. You opened a doorway for young learners to hear themselves, see themselves, and grow with confidence. Thank you for supporting a lifelong love of books and language.","fullyFundedDate":1758898984993,"projectUrl":"project/spanish-audio-books-in-3k-pre-k/9464778/","projectTitle":"Spanish Audio Books in 3K & Pre-K","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9209595_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722695636731","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9209595"},{"teacherId":9209595,"projectId":9464666,"letterContent":"The moment our new audiobooks arrived, our listening center woke up like a little lantern flickering to life. My 3K and Pre-K students gathered around the materials with wide eyes, touching the CDs, exploring the book covers, and whispering guesses about the stories inside. Many of them had never used a listening center before, so when they placed their headphones on for the first time and heard a storyteller's voice tumble into the room, their faces lit up with pure excitement. It felt like watching curiosity bloom in real time.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've woven the audiobooks into our daily STREAM routine. Students choose a story during center time, follow along in their books, and proudly point out new vocabulary that they've heard. One joyful moment happened when a group of students began retelling a story they had just listened to, using hand motions and sound effects to bring it to life. Our once-quiet listening center has transformed into a buzzing little hub where imagination and literacy meet, and it is now one of the most requested learning areas in the room.\r\n\r\nThe students are becoming more independent, more confident, and more eager to explore books because of your generosity. Your support has given them not just resources, but a doorway into storytelling, language development, and joyful learning. When young learners encounter stories, characters, and words that mirror their home languages, they step into literacy with confidence. This early affirmation strengthens vocabulary, supports stronger language development, and nurtures a deep love for reading. Children begin to notice that their voices, families, and cultures belong in the learning space.\r\n\r\nExposure to many languages also broadens children's perspectives. When students explore books written in Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic or any other languages in the classroom, they begin to understand the beauty of cultural diversity. This builds empathy, respect, and curiosity. Children learn that language is a bridge, and that every culture contributes something special to our shared community.\r\n\r\nBy enriching the STREAM classroom with multilingual books, it fosters a joyful environment where learning feels personal and inclusive. Students gain early literacy skills, expand their communication abilities, and develop cultural awareness that will serve them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1754143263409,"projectUrl":"project/strengthening-different-languages-one-w/9439646/","projectTitle":"Strengthening Different Languages, One Word at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9209595_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722695636731","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9209595"},{"teacherId":9209595,"projectId":8497545,"letterContent":"I wanted to express deep gratitude for all of the wonderful materials that have been provided for my 3K and Pre-K students in my STREAM classroom. The next steps of my project will be to continue to brainstorm more ideas where the students can develop more enriching hands-on experiences in STREAM.
