As a teacher, I find there is a struggle to engage students in reading. This problem is heightened by the screen time that shortens attention spans! \r\n\r\nHOWEVER, the second this collection of graphic novels landed on our shelves, it was next to impossible to keep them in their bin! They were taken out immediately and kids literally fought over certain ones, such as the Stranger Things collection and New Kid. Students have nonstop requested more of the Olympian series (which will be part of our next request)! The collection has even spread beyond my classrooms as students in 8th grade have come in regularly to borrow graphic novels! \r\n\r\nPut simply, in a day and age when it has been more challenging than ever to get students to \"independently read,\" this batch of graphic novels has been inspiring and engaging.
