Vocabulary cards, sentence strips, phonics activities, and visual supports can now be used repeatedly throughout the year without wear and tear. This has allowed me to create consistent, structured, and visually engaging lessons that better support my students' reading and language development.\r\n\r\nThe Teachers Pay Teachers resources have been especially impactful. These materials provide targeted, research-based activities that support a wide range of learners, including bilingual students and those with speech and language needs. My students are now practicing skills such as answering WH-questions, building sentences, expanding vocabulary, and improving reading comprehension through interactive and hands-on activities.\r\n\r\nBecause these materials are reusable, your donation will continue to impact not only my current students but many future students as well. The ability to laminate and preserve resources ensures that every dollar you contributed stretches even further, allowing for long-term use in small group instruction, literacy centers, and individualized support.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, I have seen an increase in student engagement, confidence, and participation. Students are more excited to learn, more willing to take risks with language, and more successful in expressing their ideas. These tools are helping them build the foundational skills they need for academic success and everyday communication.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their future. Your support is truly making a lasting difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758899108018,"projectUrl":"project/boosting-reading-language-and-literacy/9595968/","projectTitle":"Boosting Reading, Language, and Literacy with Durable Learning Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Diaz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1721482_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506224468712","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1721482"},{"teacherId":5791188,"projectId":9421057,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your help in keeping my students and myself organized. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards have allowed us to buy materials to create small group centers focused on student's needs as well as buying decodable texts at the students' level of phonics understanding. The laminating film has helped us to make our materials durable and useful for present and future students.\r\nAlso useful during small group instruction is the portable whiteboard with a stand you provided. It makes teaching a small group easier without having to be in the front of the classroom where our large whiteboard lives.\r\nWe use the math manipulatives each day to move from the concrete to the abstract when learning to add and subtract with regrouping. The student dividers have given us much needed privacy. Due to the \"small in size\" nature of our classroom and the large number of students in our classroom, we moved to tables this year. Apologies for the lateness of this thank you. Please know that its lateness was a reflection of how busy the year has been. \r\nHaving this project funded was a lovely way to begin the year. We had 25 lovely second grade students at all different levels that benefited from your thoughtfulness, as did I. \r\n\r\nThis project was full of necessary, somewhat random items that are all important to our classroom's organization and day to day operations. It was hard to believe, but, we used all 500 pencils and then some. The magnetic easel was wonderful for small groups. The headphones allowed students to use their devices without distracting their neighbors. The SPOT bundle helped us teach some self-regulation and co-regulation skills. The math tools of rulers, clocks, and number cards helped us in our whole and small group work.
