Students use the pencils and paper during independent work, writing assignments, and math practice, which has helped lessons run more smoothly without interruptions for missing supplies. The snacks and water have been especially helpful during longer learning blocks, allowing students to refuel and stay focused. I've noticed that students who sometimes struggle with attention are able to work for longer periods when their basic needs are met, which has made a clear difference in their engagement and productivity.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and thankful. Many asked if the supplies and snacks were for everyone and were eager to help organize them. Several students said thank you on their own, and it was clear that they felt supported and cared for. Seeing their excitement and appreciation reinforced how meaningful these everyday items are to them.\r\n\r\nRight now, students are continuing to build their reading comprehension, writing skills, and problem-solving abilities across subjects. With consistent access to supplies and classroom resources, we are able to focus on deeper learning, longer written responses, and small-group instruction without distractions. As we move forward with upcoming lessons and projects, these materials will continue to support our students in staying focused, confident, and ready to learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1758898935443,"projectUrl":"project/small-supports-big-impact-helping-stud/9637185/","projectTitle":"Small Supports, Big Impact: Helping Students Shine Every Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ceko","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10077588"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109363","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":109363,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 78 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 78","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-78/109363"}
