Your support has truly made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, and I wanted to share just how impactful it has been.\r\n\r\nHow We're Using the Resources\r\nThese essentials have allowed us to create a welcoming and safe environment where students feel supported and cared for. For example, we recently used the hygiene products to stock a discreet \"wellness corner\" in the classroom, where students can access items they need without feeling embarrassed. Additionally, the food essentials have been a lifeline for some students during long school days, helping them stay focused and engaged in their learning.\r\n\r\nA Special Moment in Our Classroom\r\nThe first day we unveiled these resources, the students' reactions were priceless. Many expressed gratitude, saying, \"This is exactly what I needed.\" One student even shared, \"I don't have to worry about asking anyone at home now; I can just get what I need here.\" That moment reinforced how much this project matters to them.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Students\r\nThe availability of these essentials has laid a foundation for confidence and dignity in the classroom. With their immediate needs met, students are better able to focus on academic goals. Currently, we're working on a class project where students are creating \"self-care plans,\" integrating the importance of maintaining both mental and physical health. This lesson builds on the resources you've provided by fostering a sense of responsibility and empowerment.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for giving our students the tools to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Your kindness and generosity have inspired us all!","fullyFundedDate":1735659854918,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-thrive-food-and-hygien/8900483/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Thrive: Food and Hygiene Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Medina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9810875_orig.jpg?crop=1125,1125,x0,y168&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729529425039","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9810875"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_170","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":254,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":"5.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.1,"schoolId":170,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 035 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 035","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-35m/170"}
