Because of your kindness, our twenty-five second graders now have regular, healthy snacks available throughout the school day, and the difference this makes is immediate and meaningful. Your gift has helped create a calmer, more focused learning environment where students can better participate in lessons, manage their energy, and engage with one another during collaborative activities.\r\nProviding snacks might seem small, but for many of our students it removes a real barrier to learning. Some of our families face food insecurity or hectic schedules that make it hard to ensure children always have something to eat between meals. Thanks to you, those students arrive at school feeling cared for and ready to learn. I've already noticed fewer distracted moments during morning work and smoother transitions between activities—snacks give the children the fuel they need to concentrate on reading, math, and creative projects.\r\nYour donation also supports our classroom community in ways that go beyond nutrition. Snack time has become an opportunity to teach responsibility and social skills: students take turns passing out items, clean up after themselves, and practice polite conversation with classmates. We use snack minutes to reinforce routines—lining up quietly, washing hands, and showing gratitude—which helps our second graders build healthy, respectful habits that will serve them throughout the year.\r\nI want you to know that your generosity is more than a one-time gift; it sends a powerful message to my students that others believe in their potential and want to invest in their success. I share age-appropriate stories about community support with my class, and they feel proud knowing someone cared enough to help. Your contribution has inspired curiosity and kindness—students ask thoughtful questions about where help comes from and discuss ways they can be helpful to others too.\r\nPractically speaking, the snacks have allowed us to plan instruction without frequent interruptions for students who are hungry. I can now focus on differentiated reading groups and hands-on math stations with confidence that every child has the energy to participate. We also keep a small supply on hand for unexpected situations—field trip mornings, after-school events, or a student who forgot breakfast—and knowing those needs can be met reduces stress for both students and staff.\r\nThank you for partnering with our classroom and for making such a tangible difference in the daily lives of these twenty-five young learners. Your support strengthens not only their bodies but their ability to learn, socialize, and thrive in school. I will keep you updated with photos and short stories of how the snacks are used and the small-but-important moments they enable. Please know your generosity is noticed, deeply appreciated, and has genuine impact.","fullyFundedDate":1766868213722,"projectUrl":"project/the-hunger-games/9592214/","projectTitle":"The Hunger Games","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Iurato","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7320559_orig.jpg?crop=271,271,x50,y131&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690573679263","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/iurato"},{"teacherId":397510,"projectId":9691133,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to my classroom project. Generation Genius has been a critical support for my students in both the areas of science and math. The MacBook has given them a place to engage with the technology independently or with a small group. The headphones are used throughout the day during all technology based lessons and activities. Generation Genius specifically has helped to bring science concepts to life. The videos are engaging and my favorite part is the reading selection that goes along with each lesson. I use this resource to reinforce concepts taught by our STEAM teacher and deepen the students' learning/understanding. The in-depth and multi-modality approach to teaching concepts will better reach all my students, no matter their learning needs or preferences. \r\nMy students favorite parts of this resource are the videos as well as the at home DIY activity guide. My students have shared with me their excitement about trying the experiments with their families. I have even had parents reach out to me about how wonderful this resource has been to ignite their child's excitement for science and deepen their thinking as scientists. Our new book display shelf has been placed in our class meeting area so it can be easily accessed by all of the students. The students have gravitated to the books that have been displayed because they can be easily seen when they are on the carpet. This has enticed them even more to want to choose their favorite books to read over and over again. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the display bookshelf, they were so excited that they could have a special place to store their books. Every day they help to organize the books on the shelf, even without asking me if they can help.
