Students are now excited for our math block because they know it time to use our new white boards! They can hardly wait to get to independent practice so that they can stand up, collaborate, and put their brains to work! I am amazed by their persistence as they work through challenging problems and show their thinking using these materials. Because of you, students are comfortable taking risks and exploring strategies when engaging in independent practice. \r\nBy far the biggest impact has been the leaders who have emerged through these routines built by our \"Thinking Classroom\". Our fourth graders are excited to take the Expo marker and lead their groups through difficult problems all while discussing their thinking aloud. Students are teaching each other more than ever and taking real ownership of their learning. This growth is possible because of your generosity and belief in our classroom.\r\nWe are hoping to inspire other classrooms around the school to embark in their own \"Thinking Classroom\" journeys. We look forward to each day we can use these materials generously donated by you to continue growing, exploring, and learning together.","fullyFundedDate":1755213298722,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-to-learn-from-mistakes-and-learn/9577591/","projectTitle":"A Place to Learn From Mistakes and Learn Through Thinking!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Conti","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10170215"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_99002","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":445,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":86,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":99002,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 280 Q on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 280 Q","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-280q/99002"}
