The children want to hear more and more stories with these characters and everytime I introduce a new character you can hear a pin drop in the room. The materials are used regularly to support fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory regulation, and overall participation in classroom-related tasks. Students use the tools to work toward goals such as improving hand strength, coordination, attention, task persistence, and the ability to follow multi-step directions.\r\n\r\nOne particularly meaningful moment occurred during an individual session when student was able to request a material, followed directions with minimal support, and remained engaged for the entire session. \r\n\r\nThe excitement around the new materials was immediate. Students were eager to explore the tools and engage in the new activities. Even students who often struggle with motivation showed increased engagement and positive behavior. Therapy sessions felt more enjoyable and meaningful while still targeting essential developmental and academic skills.\r\n\r\nThese materials have allowed me to better differentiate instruction and meet students at their individual skill levels. Moving forward, students will continue using these resources to build independence, strengthen foundational skills, and apply strategies learned in therapy to classroom activities such as writing, cutting, organization, and collaborative work. The children love listening to stories and music and this is another way for them to do it without having to wait for story time. We have placed the Tonies box in the cozy corner and when the children want to listen to a story or some music they now can just pop the Tonies on top of the box and start their new adventure on their own (we of course had a few lessons on how to do this and how to take care of the Tonies and the Tonies box as well). Our new rug is the main hub of our classroom. We use this rug as a meeting space in our class and it is where we build the relationships that turn our class into a community. \r\n\r\nAs you can see from the photos, the rug is our meeting space... but we also use it for class discussions, building with blocks, reading book during read aloud, \"reading\" independently, and writing. Our old rug was very well used and we could not remove the stains, so this fresh, clean rug is amazing. The students were super excited when it arrived.\r\n\r\nFrom this project we also received a Tonies box and lots of characters. The students love picking a character and having the book read to them. They also use it to have dance parties, since it have a few childhood songs and rhymes.
