Our new rug is the main hub of our classroom. We use this rug as a meeting space in our class and it is where we build the relationships that turn our class into a community. \r\n\r\nAs you can see from the photos, the rug is our meeting space... but we also use it for class discussions, building with blocks, reading book during read aloud, \"reading\" independently, and writing. Our old rug was very well used and we could not remove the stains, so this fresh, clean rug is amazing. The students were super excited when it arrived.\r\n\r\nFrom this project we also received a Tonies box and lots of characters. The students love picking a character and having the book read to them. I wanted to share an update on our recent project, which was incredibly successful thanks to your generosity. This marks the third time in my career I've received completed funding, a testament to the ongoing support we're fortunate to receive. The impact of previous donations, some as far back as eight years ago, continues to be felt on daily in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe new materials have been a wonderful addition. The students were immediately drawn to the sensory toys, particularly the hourglass-shaped ones. One student, \"Greg\", finds them invaluable for self-regulation. The weighted stuffed aniamls, a wolf and a monkey, have becomes cherished class pets, offering comfort and promoting social interaction among the children. We've even seen instances of peer-to-peer support, with students comforting each other using the animals.\r\n\r\nThe play ice cream comes have also proven to be a versatile resource, enriching both imaginative play and opportunities for learning about sharing and engaging with our sensory materials.
