Because of your contributions, we have been afforded the opportunity to cook in our classroom and well as enhance our science center.\r\n\r\nAs a part of our early childhood curriculum there a several opportunities to explore through cooking. In the past we were not able to implement this part of the curriculum due to our limited resources and our lack of classroom appropriate cooking appliances. This year we have been able to cook and store perishable items in our classroom. We made fresh pizza, gingerbread cones and fruit salad.\r\n\r\nWe have also been able to create a music and movement center. Even though this center creates a lot of noise in the classroom, the joy on the students' faces is well worth it. I have enjoyed watching the students create beats with each other and rhythmic dances. The surprise on their faces when they hear the different sounds each instrument makes, priceless.","fullyFundedDate":1752586517884,"projectUrl":"project/educational-equity-for-all/9339503/","projectTitle":"Educational Equity For All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Humphrey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9266002_orig.jpg?crop=716,716,x341,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694108590945","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9266002"},{"teacherId":9266002,"projectId":9319787,"letterContent":"I want to take an opportunity to thank you for your generous donation to my \"Young Learners\" project. The money you donated was used to purchase items to enhance learning and exploration in my 3K classroom. \r\n\r\nOur early childhood curriculum focuses a lot on student exploration, learning through play and language development. As you know the classroom environment is an important aspect of learning and community building. My classroom needed these items to help further create a more nurturing classroom environment. \r\n\r\nStudents are now able to gather together on a carpet for story time. We also use our carpet as the foundation for building in the block area. The students were excited when we received the carpet because it meant we could all sit together comfortably. \r\n\r\nStudents love to feel the sense of independence as well as being able to identify a space of their own. The multi section storage cabinet was used to create an art area in which all materials are accessible to the students. Students can now navigate their art materials independently. When they are finished creating their artwork they now have a place of their own to place their work, thanks to the classroom keeper mailbox slots.\r\n\r\nI have enjoyed watching the sense of community and independence grow in my room.
