My students were so excited when they first saw our new Treasure Chest and all the fun rewards inside. The fidget toys, stress balls, small treats, and other treasures immediately caught their attention, and they could not wait for the opportunity to earn their first prize. It was wonderful to see their excitement and hear them talking about which treasure they hoped to earn!\r\n\r\nWe are now using the Treasure Chest as part of our classroom positive behavior reward system. Throughout the week, students earn points for completing their assignments, participating in lessons, demonstrating positive behavior, persevering when work becomes challenging, and making responsible choices. On Fridays, they have the opportunity to redeem their hard-earned points for a prize. What may seem like a small reward has become a meaningful way for my students to see that their effort, perseverance, and positive choices are noticed and celebrated.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will work toward strengthening their academic skills while also becoming more independent and responsible learners. Our Treasure Chest will continue to be there to celebrate the small steps and big accomplishments along the way. Thank you for giving my students something exciting to work toward each week and, most importantly, for helping me create a classroom where their hard work is recognized and their successes are celebrated.
