These activities helped my kindergarten students reinforce skills in phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, building sentences, and decoding words with short vowels. While participating in these activities the students are also developing peer relationships through collaboration. As the school year continues, the students will use the phonics skills presented in the hands on activities when decoding simple books. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting impact on the students at James B.
