As part of our ongoing mission to spread kindness and positivity, we are creating and donating Smile Cards—handmade cards filled with encouraging messages—for children in hospitals. These cards are designed to uplift the spirits of young patients who may be facing difficult times and need a little extra light in their day.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the Smile Cards, we are also making bright and cheerful positive message stickers, such as the ones shown in the photo that read \"Dream Big\" and \"Stay Positive.\" These stickers are meant to serve as small but powerful reminders of hope, strength, and self-belief. Each message is crafted with the intention of making someone smile, feel seen, and feel supported—even if just for a moment.\r\n\r\nWhat makes this project even more special is the level of student involvement. A group of dedicated students has been volunteering their time during lunch periods to work on this initiative. They have been brainstorming encouraging phrases, designing the cards and stickers, and carefully putting everything together by hand. Watching their creativity and compassion come to life through this project has been incredibly inspiring.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for the generous donation of supplies that helped bring this project to life. Thanks to your support, we were able to gather the paper, markers, sticker materials, and other creative tools necessary to produce the cards and stickers. Your contribution not only made this idea a reality, but also showed our students the power of community and the impact people can have when they come together with a shared purpose.\r\n\r\nWhile our first focus is donating these Smile Cards and stickers to children's hospitals, we are excited to continue expanding the project. Our next goal is to create additional cards and stickers to share within our own school community. We believe all students can benefit from positive affirmations, especially during stressful times like exams or personal challenges. By spreading encouraging messages around our school—whether it's in lockers, on notebooks, or handed out in class—we hope to create a more positive and supportive atmosphere for everyone.\r\n\r\nAt the heart of this project is a simple but powerful idea: all kids deserve to feel seen, valued, and encouraged. A kind word or message can go a long way in helping a child feel hopeful and strong, and we are proud to be part of that effort.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for helping us make this project possible. Your generosity has planted the seeds of kindness in our students, and those seeds are already growing into something beautiful. We look forward to continuing this work and spreading as many smiles as we can—one card, one sticker, and one message at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1745598052613,"projectUrl":"project/positive-meaningful-motivation/9256033/","projectTitle":"Positive & Meaningful Motivation","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp12332_orig.png?crop=599,599,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661359251654","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/12332"},{"teacherId":12332,"projectId":8415042,"letterContent":"When teachers are equipped with fun games and engaging activities, students are given more than just a break from traditional academics — they're offered a meaningful way to connect, grow, and thrive. These types of donations create opportunities for students to explore creative play, teamwork, and problem-solving in a low-pressure environment. Whether it's a classroom challenge game, cooperative puzzle, or hands-on activity, these experiences allow students to discover their strengths, take healthy risks, and build confidence. For many kids, especially those who struggle in traditional learning settings, these moments of playful learning are where they truly shine. They're laughing, thinking, and working together — all essential elements of social-emotional learning. These activities help students practice empathy, develop self-regulation, and improve communication skills as they navigate group dynamics and celebrate each other's successes. Simply put, play is powerful.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room was undeniable when the students saw the new games and activities. Their faces lit up with joy and curiosity as they dove into challenges that were both fun and mentally stimulating. Many students expressed how grateful they were to have a chance to do something different — something that made them think in new ways, while still having fun with their peers. These moments brought students together, often bridging gaps between classmates who wouldn't typically interact. Shy students found ways to open up through team-based games, and more confident students learned to lead with kindness and encouragement. The classroom atmosphere became more energized, inclusive, and joyful. Thanks to the generous donation, school became not just a place of learning, but a place of laughter, connection, and community-building — and for that, the students and teachers alike are truly thankful.","fullyFundedDate":1716252578026,"projectUrl":"project/more-fun-and-less-stress/8415042/","projectTitle":"More fun and Less Stress","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. G.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp12332_orig.png?crop=599,599,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661359251654","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/12332"},{"teacherId":12332,"projectId":8250134,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of supplies to help us create posters for our school community. Your support has made it possible for our students to engage in meaningful projects that promote environmental awareness and responsibility. The materials you provided have given them the opportunity to showcase their creativity while learning valuable lessons in sustainability.\r\n\r\nThe students have truly benefitted from this experience by not only gaining artistic skills but also developing a stronger sense of responsibility toward the environment. They have created posters that encourage important behaviors, such as recycling, using reusable water bottles instead of plastic, and keeping our school clean by avoiding littering. These posters serve as powerful reminders of how small actions can make a big difference in our everyday lives.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, my students have become more mindful of their actions and the impact they have on their surroundings.
