Because of you, my students are able to experience science in a real, hands on way that meets their needs. We have been doing a lot of work with seeds and learning that plants are living things, and we are about to begin using the terrarium kits to take that learning further. My students are making connections as they plant, observe, and care for something they can see grow. The microscopes and magnifying tools have helped them slow down and really look closely, and the magnetic and sensory materials support exploration in a way that works for all of my learners. The adaptive scissors have also made a big difference, my students are improving their fine motor skills and becoming more independent, and I am cutting less for them because they are doing more on their own.\r\n\r\nWhat stood out most was their reaction. Students who usually struggle to stay engaged were focused, asking questions, and proud of what they were doing. They were excited to use the materials and fully involved in the learning. I was able to capture moments of them using these resources, and it truly shows the impact of your support. Because of you, we will continue building on this work through our planting and hydroponics projects, giving students more opportunities to explore, grow, and take ownership of their learning. You didn't just donate materials, you made access and real experiences possible for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1772116116073,"projectUrl":"project/growing-brilliant-minds-through-science/9920198/","projectTitle":"Growing Brilliant Minds Through Science","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10360332_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765507721096","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10360332"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134560","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":134560,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P643X @ 496 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P643X @ 496","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/p643x-496/134560"}
