It's so wonderful to have a consistent supply of these items so students can be comfortable while they are at school and in a position to focus on learning instead of needing to find a tissue.\r\n\r\nI really appreciate your contribution to my classroom. I know essentials like tissues and clorox wipes may not seem as exciting as other projects on donorschoose, but they are essentials for a reason and truly help my classroom function better. I feel so lucky to be able to provide my students with things they specifically request from me, and this is often not possible without the kindness of donors like you.\r\n\r\nStudents love our new fidget toys! They have tried all the options, decided which ones are best (the purple triangles), and often split up the sets to share with their friends during class time. As much as the students enjoy them, the fidget toys also help them focus by giving something to busy their hands and allowing them to still their minds and think about the new material in class.\r\n\r\nThe student who asked for them directly is happiest of all. He has shown enormous improvement in concentrating in class when he uses the toys and he would not be doing as well without them.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this happen!","fullyFundedDate":1730549950209,"projectUrl":"project/fidget-toys-for-focus/8871408/","projectTitle":"Fidget Toys for Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Caitlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6268572_orig.png?crop=580,580,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651249324584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/caitlin"},{"teacherId":6268572,"projectId":8904318,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your contributions have helped us grow our math library and the students are loving the new books we've added!\r\n\r\nI originally intended to use these books as part of enrichment activities. Often there are students who ask questions beyond the scope of our class and I want to recommend books that address the ideas they are asking about. In the past, I have given students book titles and tried to help them find it in our school library, but it felt like a lot of steps for the student to get their questions answered. Thanks to your donations, I have already been able to give a book to a student in immediate response to their inquiries. It was fantastic! I also love having puzzle books on hand for students who finish early.\r\n\r\nWhat's been even better than I imagined is that *all* my students have been interested in these books. Even students who have told me they dislike math or have questioned the importance of learning math had their curiosity piqued by certain puzzles and passages from books they've seen their peers reading. It has truly been enriching for all members of my classes, and I can't thank you enough for making this happen!","fullyFundedDate":1730091312013,"projectUrl":"project/brain-bending-books/8904318/","projectTitle":"Brain Bending Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Caitlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6268572_orig.png?crop=580,580,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651249324584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/caitlin"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7833","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":422,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":30,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":59,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.9,"schoolId":7833,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Design High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Design High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/new-design-high-school/7833"}
