Thanks to your support, we now have a full-color printer that will be an essential part of our future zine projects and all art projects in the future.\r\nThe printer arrived late in the year, in June, so the students were unable to use it for this year's Zine project, but they have been able to use it for other projects. We are looking forward to using it this year for our posters that are coming up for this year, the sustainability project, and many other projects across the board. We also recently got 15 NEW Apple PowerBook Pros in our art studio. This gift arrives at a very exciting time because we are going to be building out a few lessons this year, introducing our students to media arts as well as visual arts. This printer will be beneficial, as it allows for printing color work and large-format color work for students poster layouts and Zines. We're hoping this year that the zine will actually be printed, using InDesign for laying it out and creating some of the pages as straight media arts pages, rather than being done by hand.\r\nAdditionally, our art studio has utilized it for full-color signage around the classroom and hallways, creating models and other visual aids in full color to help all students learn. Thank you again so much to companies and people like yourselves who help the STUDENT GET THE EXTRAS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED.","fullyFundedDate":1746786090355,"projectUrl":"project/the-futurezine/9070821/","projectTitle":"The FutureZine","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgenlander","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9571279"},{"teacherId":9571279,"projectId":9071032,"letterContent":"Our family at School of the Future Brooklyn would like to thank you for your generous gift. Our students have been using these marker donations in all grades since June last year.\r\n\r\nOur 7th graders are shown in the picture with the work they created at the end of last year in their lettering/street art poster projects they made as 6th graders to \r\ncreate art that welcomes ALL students at the start of the following year. You can see they were as excited to take the photo as they were to use the expanded and improved marker selection. \r\n\r\nThis year, they are already using the markers for the planning stages of their next project in all grades. Sixth grade is creating 3d robots, and they will be painting them.\r\nSeventh grade is planning their full-color STEAM storybooks. Eight is creating a drawn portrait of a person notable in STEAM. This has raised the students' confidence and their academic performance. Schools like ours need people and companies like yours to provide our students with the equity they deserve.
