The students are eager to help pass them out each day in each class! These pads have given us the chance to use the drumsticks we already had and focus on reading rhythms with confidence. We've been practicing quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, and their corresponding rests and then putting our rhythm charts to use with pop music for extra fun and engagement.\r\n\r\nThe students are developing proper stick handling and ensemble skills as they play together. We're now preparing to introduce sixteenth notes, and we're excited to hear what it will sound like when an entire classroom of new music readers performs in unison.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this hands-on learning possible. We used the materials funded by this project to create friendship and kindness bracelets, and then handed them out to other students throughout the school.\r\n\r\nThe moment they saw the colorful beads and supplies, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately started brainstorming designs and messages that would brighten someone's day. It was incredible to watch them work so thoughtfully—not just on making the bracelets look great, but on thinking about who they would give them to and why.\r\n\r\nAs we handed the bracelets out, we saw shy smiles turn into big grins, and students who didn't usually interact were suddenly laughing and connecting.","fullyFundedDate":1744913815371,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-for-college-point/9256050/","projectTitle":"Kindness for College Point","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nemeroff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8403236_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1649258601501","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8403236"},{"teacherId":1979881,"projectId":8423622,"letterContent":"On behalf of the entire Broadcasting Club at College Point Collaborative (MS 379) I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of video equipment.
