Eventhough we ran into some difficulties, we were able to incorporate coding, teacheable machine, and physical computing when discussing about Daphnia Magna Carta. We were able to compare a multi cellular organism to a unicellular organims. We were able to compare the daphnia to a plant cells or an animal cell. \r\nWe used the microbit to show the heart beat. \r\n\r\n However in the liquid, we had a tough time measuring the heart rate of one daphnia eventhough we had a hoover cam. And keeping the Daphnia alive was not an easy task because the spring break, they ran out of algae.\r\nHowever despite these limitations and constraints, my students had a productive time learning about a water flea in connection to AI. The students were excited, and scared at first. And using teachable machine as a tool was an innovating way to expose the scholars to large learning model. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks for providing hope, and resources.","fullyFundedDate":1737987804519,"projectUrl":"project/biology-experiments-augmented-by-ai/9057905/","projectTitle":"Biology Experiments Augmented by AI","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gilles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9474812_orig.png?crop=483,483,x8,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709590013995","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sherlyne-gilles"},{"teacherId":9474812,"projectId":8784543,"letterContent":"I was able to show the scholars how different changes in the ecosystem negatively impact an organism. I was able to show that sometime human activity correlate to those changes. Being in an area such as Brownsville Brooklyn, students don't normally think about aquatic environment, or wetlands. Eventhough a few of them may go to canarsie pier or the Hudson River on the west side. They don't have access to go In the water, or even think that the animals are being polluted, or there is a connection between what happens in that water, and their place in the food chain. So thank you for allowing me to show them on a small scale, the toxicity changing the heart rate of a small water flea.\r\nThe students were extremely elated to see the motion of the water flea.
