This donation has expanded what we are able to do musically and has opened the door for students who are especially drawn to rhythm and percussion. Students are using the electric drum set during small group rotations and recording activities, where they practice patterns, fills, and transitions while playing with backing tracks or alongside their classmates. One powerful moment was seeing a normally quiet student take the lead on drums and help drive the group forward with confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the drum set was first introduced, students were immediately curious and eager to try it. Many had never had the chance to sit at a full drum kit before, and the experience made music class feel exciting and professional. Because the set is electric, students can experiment freely, listen closely through headphones, and focus on precision without worrying about volume. This has created a more focused and supportive learning environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students are applying their drumming skills to full ensemble pieces and learning how rhythm connects all members of a band. They are also beginning to record simple drum parts as part of our digital music and modern band lessons. These resources have already made a huge difference in our daily music making. Students are using the stands during rehearsals so they can focus on posture, technique, and ensemble awareness instead of juggling sheet music. The tuners have become part of our warm up routine, helping students independently tune their instruments and build confidence and responsibility as musicians.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, there was immediate excitement. Many of them had never used a proper music stand or a personal tuner before, and they were eager to try them out. One memorable moment was watching a group of students tune their guitars on their own for the first time and then proudly help a classmate who was still learning. It created a sense of professionalism and teamwork that truly elevated the energy in the room.\r\n\r\nNext, students are continuing to work on ensemble pieces for guitar and ukulele, focusing on playing together in time and staying in tune throughout a full song. These new tools are helping them rehearse more efficiently and prepare for performances with greater confidence.
