My students were beyond excited and grateful when they first saw them. Our previous boards were worn and difficult to use, often requiring students to crouch down on the floor to write comfortably. Having these new boards has made such a difference, giving students a more accessible space to collaborate, share ideas and work through challenging problems together. \r\n\r\nUsing the Building in Thinking Classrooms approach, my students loved working in small groups at their boards during our weekly math lessons. Whether solving multi-step word problems, sharing strategies or sharing their reasoning, the boards encouraged meaningful discussions, teamwork and critical thinking. It was wonderful watching students become more confident in their mathematical abilities while learning from and supporting one another. \r\n\r\nI am especially excited to continue using these boards with my new group of third graders this school year and with all my future students to come! We plan to incorporate them into weekly problem solving activities, collaborative challenges and opportunities to strengthen communication and critical thinking skills.
