I incorporate many hands-on projects to boost engagement and empower students to create work that is rooted in science but seen through their own perspective. The technology and materials provided through this project allowed us to bring our ideas to life.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, my students can now showcase their work using both the Polaroid and digital cameras. They used the Polaroid to create a bulletin board highlighting all the students who passed the nursing assistant certification. The digital camera has been used to capture moments from CPR training, peer mentoring, and science events such as the Medical Health Fair. The laptop has been essential for accessing Cricut designs to create mini projects like anatomy‑themed stickers, and the Cricut machine itself has supported many art‑integrated science activities. Additionally, in the New York public school system, it is the norm to pack music classes with fifty students, give teachers ten sections of music, and not support the music curriculum with instruments, equipment, or texts. Despite these obstacles, I have tried to offer a robust music education for students so that they can learn the joy of music production as well as learn other skills. \r\n\r\nWhen I returned from sabbatical this year, I was saddened to find that the headphones I had purchased in previous years had been decimated. As you can imagine, it would be unworkable to have fifty kids in a class working on music through the speakers of their computers. Because of your generous donation, students now can work with focus on music analysis and composition. We are incredibly grateful and want you to know that your donation has directly impacted the educational quality of instruction for students. It often is the case that donations go to pay promotion for a charity or to cover its running costs.
