The students were so excited to use this for our newspaper! They started out by taking pictures of each other. Once they were comfortable with that, they began using it to take pictures for their stories (you can see them here on chahphoenix.com). \r\n\r\nThis week, students used the camera to document the STEM club's events for Earth Day, photograph a student art show on City Island, and take photos of teachers for our Teacher of the Month feature. The camera helps them feel like real journalists, and gives our program more credibility in the eyes of the school community. \r\n\r\nLater this month, students will use the camera during a photojournalism workshop with a real photographer, who will be visiting our school to teach them about profile photography. I'm so grateful that my students will get to practice this important skill using our camera.
