My students have been using the fidget toys, organizers, and snacks in ways that have really enhanced the classroom environment. The fidget toys have been especially exciting for the students—they were thrilled to receive them and have found them helpful in staying focused and calm during lessons. The organizers have made a huge difference in keeping their work areas tidy and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning. With everything in its place, the students feel more in control of their materials and their tasks. The addition of snacks has also helped maintain energy levels throughout the day, keeping everyone engaged and ready to learn. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were intrigued and eager to dive in. Some were a bit hesitant at first, but once they got a feel for how the materials were structured, they became more engaged. Their independence quickly grew as they became more comfortable with seeking out the materials that they needed. There was a lot of curiosity and excitement, especially when they saw and learned that they would each have their own personal fidget toys. Over the course of a few days, it was evident that using the fidget toys enhanced their focused. Students seldom left the room for bathroom breaks and were more eager to utilize their class time more efficiently. \r\n\r\nThese changes have transformed the classroom into a warm, welcoming space where students are able to self-serve and thrive. It's become a place where they feel empowered, organized, and motivated to do their best. Their attitudes towards learning has significantly improved. \r\n\r\nAt this stage of the school year, our next steps involve reinforcing the importance of a growth mindset, particularly as our students prepare for the state exam in June. Fostering a growth mindset will help them embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and stay motivated in the face of obstacles. For example, we can encourage students to view mistakes as opportunities for growth, rather than failures. Additionally, we can provide praise for effort and persistence, such as acknowledging when a student revises a project multiple times to improve its quality. Through these actions, students will develop resilience and a belief that their abilities can improve with hard work, ultimately helping them perform their best on the state exam.","fullyFundedDate":1731599857371,"projectUrl":"project/structured-learning-environment/8848465/","projectTitle":"Structured Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fraser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9787087"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94730","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":239,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":81,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":37.5,"schoolId":94730,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brooklyn Theatre Arts High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brooklyn Theatre Arts High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/brooklyn-theatre-arts-high-school/94730"}
