When they first saw the karaoke machine, their faces lit up with joy, and a few students immediately grabbed the microphone to test it out. The bean bags provide a relaxed space for collaboration, the pencils and paper help them craft thoughtful verses, and the snacks keep everyone motivated during long writing sessions. Purchasing these handouts allowed students to conduct research on the different Greek figures and it warmed them up for the unit. These interactive slides allowed my scholars to engage in the work in a different way. My students were able to watch the videos on the slides as well as answer questions on the slides. Some of the slides even included recent TV shows in which they had to analyze the mood and tone. \r\n\r\nThe graphic organizer book made it easier to work with scholars who had difficulty with writing. It allowed me to help organize their thoughts and help them practice short response writing each week. The gumball machine was a blast from the past, and it was pretty cool watching the amazement in my scholars' faces at seeing the machine. I packed the machine up with fidget spinners because I know some of my scholars have challenges with focusing, and the spinners also help manage anxiety. \r\n\r\nAll in all, the TPT gift card has been the ultimate gift. It has allowed me to purchase engaging materials that my scholars are excited about. As a teacher, I'm critical about reading passages on tests and how dull they sometimes can be. Now, I get to purchase reading passages about \"Big Foot\" and \"Pokémon\". This is unheard of! I was a bit surprised when one of my scholars came back and complimented me on the test. Additionally, the TPT resources have been \"student friendly\"; the font is appeasing to my scholars, and the materials help to differentiate the different activities for my unit.
