I remember coming in the first day of class and having a discussion with my class about what they would like to see to make this project come alive.\r\n\r\nOne student mentioned that he would like to have a lab coat to really \"play the part\" of an actual chemist. I let him know that this year, he is a beginning student chemist. I went on to search for ways to obtain the lab coats for my smallest class and it seemed a bit cost prohibitive to come directly from me. Donors Choose stood in the gap for my students. They happen to have neurodivergent learning styles; however, it does not stop them from learning and thriving. \r\n\r\nThe lab coats gave them sich a confidence boost. It was something so unexpected. I am so happy that this wish could become a reality. Someone actually believed in their potential. As a result, the students come in ready to go and I am forever grateful.
