The students actively assisted in building the expanded enclosure, which allowed them to apply practical planning and organizational skills. Following the assembly, the students managed the larger environment daily, requiring them to monitor specific environmental conditions and animal health.\r\n\r\nThe ongoing maintenance of the habitat developed the students' scientific observation skills and promoted critical social-emotional competencies, specifically accountability and empathy. By integrating this expanded habitat into our classroom, we ensured the students could study animal biology and practice responsible caretaking in an optimal, structured setting.
