Through the use of the Little Spot books and plushies, I was able to give voice to some friends who don't yet have those words. \r\nI have a Kindergarten student who is fully non-verbal who was so excited to see the puppets and plushies that he began vocally stimming over one, then set it down and went on to the next one. He couldn't decide which was his favorite, but was able to express through physically touching that he was indeed excited and happy to see these new characters. \r\nI look forward to using these books with all of the students I work with, but to see the joy on that little friend's face on the second day of school was truly magical, and it couldn't have been without the help of Donors Choose.","fullyFundedDate":1787174314397,"projectUrl":"project/socially-and-emotionally-educated/10395508/","projectTitle":"Socially and Emotionally Educated","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5578685_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532688389609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kimberly-thompson"},{"teacherId":5578685,"projectId":9879499,"letterContent":"Thanks to you and your generous donations, I was able to provide my students with a safe space to have big emotions, and have a little fun in the meantime. When I received the donation of sand, my students went CRAZY for it! I was able to provide an awesome experience for all of my students, both verbal and non-verbal where they all felt heard and seen. \r\nWith the help of the beanbag chair and sand/water table, I have been able to create sensory experiences for my students that have given them the regulation they need to be successful after taking a break with me. \r\nThe beanbag has been especially helpful for those days when students are just extra tired and need a place to crash for a bit. They have taken full naps on it as well as just hung out and listened to my music. \r\nThank you, always and forever for the amazing things you have helped provide my little nuggets!","fullyFundedDate":1766205500973,"projectUrl":"project/alright-stopregulate-and-listen/9879499/","projectTitle":"Alright, Stop...Regulate and Listen","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5578685_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532688389609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kimberly-thompson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_20986","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":503,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":69,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":20986,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Morris Central School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Morris Central School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/mount-morris-central-school-district/mt-morris-central-school/20986"}
